Volley & Rally for a Benefit: A Day of Volleyball, Food, and Giving Back at Dover Shores
Stompin’ Grounds Gives Back to the Orlando Community Through the Power of Volleyball
On a sunny weekend in Orlando, Stompin’ Grounds (SG) hosted a vibrant community event that brought together volleyball lovers, foodies, and supporters of youth empowerment for an unforgettable day — Volley & Rally for a Benefit at Dover Shores Community Center.
A Growing Partnership With Purpose
Over the past year, SG's relationship with Dover Shores has flourished, transforming the space into a trusted hub for adult volleyball tournaments, wellness events, and now — community service initiatives. This bond sparked a deeper purpose for SG: to give back to the local youth by tapping into the strength and support of their ever-growing volleyball community.
As SG Co-Director Kai Kamai shared:
“Our superpower is building a lasting adult volleyball community that constantly supports who we are as a company. With that power, we aim to pay it forward by assisting a great need in our Orlando community — the Youth Program at Dover Shores.”
A Full Day of Serving — On and Off the Court
Together with SG Co-Director Delroy Waugh, who brought incredible enthusiasm and vision to the cause, a unique day of play and purpose was born. Thanks to continued support and coordination from Steven and Missy — the amazing liaisons at Dover Shores — the plan took shape:
A full day of competitive volleyball and delicious food, with all proceeds going directly to fund Dover Shores Youth Programs.
From morning to evening, the courts buzzed with energy, as new and returning players rotated in every session. Whether spiking a winning shot or cheering from the sidelines, the sense of community and contribution was felt throughout.
Introducing the Jawaiian Plate – Food With a Cause
To add a flavorful twist to the fundraiser, Kai and Delroy brought their cultural roots to the table — quite literally — with a culinary creation called the Jawaiian Plate. This special dish featured a delicious fusion of:
Hawaiian Kalua Pork (a nod to Kai’s roots)
Jamaican Jerk Meatballs (Delroy’s island favorite)
Prepared and served under SG’s food division, Grubbin’ Grounds, the plates were a huge hit — and helped raise additional funds for much-needed supplies and programming for Dover Shores’ youth.
Every Spike Made a Difference
Thanks to everyone who came out to play, cheer, eat, and donate, SG was able to meet their fundraising goal and provide meaningful support to the young lives impacted by Dover Shores’ programming.
Why It Matters
Events like Volley & Rally for a Benefit show what happens when community, culture, and cause come together. Stompin’ Grounds is proud to continue creating opportunities where adults can play with purpose — and youth can thrive with support.
